A Weekend in Tucson

In November, my parents and I went down to Tucson for my sister’s wedding. It was a short weekend and we really only explored the Historic 4th Ave and San Xavier Mission Church. I can definitely say that Tucson really isn’t for me, but it wasn’t as bad as I though it was going to be (sorry sis).

My sister had her wedding in the Catalina Foothills on a trail. Her and her husband used to go there for their dates with just a camping chair and some snacks. So they decided to have their small ceremony there. It was just family, but really, really pretty.

The last day we were there, we decided to do a little exploring at the San Xavier Mission Church. It’s this beautiful church at the reservation that looks like it shouldn’t exist in Arizona, much less in the US. It looks like it should either be in Europe or in a Spanish colony in Central or South America. But the scenery and landscape that it’s set on, is absolutely perfect and beautiful.

After, we met my sister at one of their favorite spots for lunch: Time Market. I had a really good salad and an amazing Chai Latte. I did wish we had eaten inside instead of on their patio. Definitely take note of this one if you ever go there. Eat inside! I got pooped on a couple times by bored because their patio is covered by trees where a bunch of birds live.

We still had some time before out flight left to take us back to Colorado, so we decided to walk the Historic 4th Ave. There was a lot of cool street art along the way and some nice shops, but I wasn’t really that excited about it. I think if we had more time to explore, it would have been better, but it was actually not that busy and pretty barren for being a popular spot.

All in all, I’m glad I got to see some things and wish I had more time to explore certain parts, but overall, thanks for the time Tucson!
